As I read the quote below, couldn't help thinking just how much the country I love really does need to repent. I don't care which "party hat" you might or might not wear, nor do I care what spiritual path you have chosen - or not chosen - to follow you have to admit that as a nation we are not following a path that is going to lead us to anything good. I am not so naive that one man (or woman) is going to change everything ovenight, or by him/herself. But I beleive that s/he can and will make a difference. And I beleve that every vote counts. So I hope that if you live in the USA - and live in one of the Super Tueday States - you will have voted by the end of this day. Or , if your State's Primary is still ahead, that you won't let any excuse keep you from voting. I won't tell you who to vote for, I'll just tell you you're going to hell if you don't. *JUST KIDDING!!!* Biblically speaking, to repent doesn't mean to feel sorry about, to regret. It means to turn, to turn around 180 degrees. It means to undergo a complete change of mind, heart, direction. Turn away from madness, cruelty, shallowness, blindness. Turn toward the tolerance, compassion, sanity, hope, justice that we all have in us at our best. - Frederick Buechner from Secrets in the Dark: A Life in Sermons
