I will not lie to you. I am absolutely THRILLED that Obama won last night. I am also PROUD, tho admittedly I had nothing to do with Obama winning, unless my hopes and good wishes count for anything. I figure that if I can be held "accountable" for everything that Sharpton, Jackson, and Farakhan says I can have some share in the "glory" of Obama, And if I have to hang my head in shame everytime a dark skinned person - a person of any African heritage - does anything criminal, immoral, or just plain stupid, I certainly should be able to take pride in Obama's victory. Already, I am hearing that Obama's victory in Iowa doesn't mean a lot.....after all there's till 49 states to go. Maybe "they" are right.
But I think Obama has still done something incredible.
He exceeded all the expectations of all the political pundits. And he did it in a state that is - I've heard - is 98% White. People will NOT be able to claim that he won because only because he got the "Black vote", And I believe at last "we" can finally say "Yes Virginia, White people will vote for a Black man". At least in Iowa. ===================Live simply. Love generously.
